The Objective
- Design three art cards that are fresh and exciting, while staying stylistically consistent with previous years’ sets.
- Ensure the cards can be used by educators and that they help learners build a connection with indigenous art and artists.
The Plan
- Create new illustrations that represented the key points of the activity, in the same style as previous illustrations.
- Write activities that allow learners to have a similar experience as the artist in either their inspiration or technique.
- Write copy for cards at a 3rd grade level.
- Create images of the activity that demonstrate the final process.
The Outcome
- Learners reported enjoying the art cards, and the Heard staff thought they made an excellent addition to the previous years’ sets.
- Educators said the activities were helpful and easy for learners to do at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
